New technologies are revolutionizing the preservation and accessibility of cultural heritage; this article delves into methods that are increasingly being used in the creation, management, and dissemination of digital resources related to cultural heritage conservation & international exchange.
“Digital heritage” refers to digitized versions and embodiments of cultural heritage. This article discusses the role of new technologies in preserving and enhancing digital heritage, and emphasizes the importance of digital tools like 3D scanning, virtual reality, and AI when it comes to heritage conservation. If used effectively, these technologies can increase accessibility to cultural heritage and facilitate global cultural exchange. For this reason, the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) highlights the need for a framework that incorporates best practices and skilled personnel to ensure the success of digital heritage projects.
