Today the U.S. Trade Representative issued a Federal Register Notice seeking “comments from the public on all issues related to Japan’s participation in the TPP negotiations [and] comments on negotiations to address certain non-tariff measures of Japan that will be conducted bilaterally in parallel to the TPP negotiations and addressed by the conclusion of the TPP negotiations.”
The deadline for comments is June 9.
USTR will also hold a public hearing on Japan’s entry into the trade negotiations on July 2. The deadline for requests to testify is June 9. The full announcment is here.
There is also an open request for comments on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership with the EU. There will be an open hearing on the trade agreement May 29-30. Written comments on the agreement, or requests to testify at the hearing, are due by midnight on Friday, May 10. The full announcement is here.
