De Gucht Admits that ACTA Does Not Have Votes in EU Parliament

ACTA’s biggest EU proponent, Karel De Gucht, the European Commissioner driving ACTA, is now admitting that the agreement may be doomed in Europe. Techdirt reports minutes from a recent Commission meeting in which De Gucht was paraphrased as saying:

“that the campaign had also had a considerable influence on Members of the European Parliament and, following recent contacts with various political groups, he now felt it would be difficult to muster a majority in favour of ACTA within the EP.”
