Carolina Botero has called attention to the Colombian process of implementing the copyright provisions of the US-FTA. The draft legislation made for implementing these provisions is in a high-speed race. It was presented to the Congress in March 21 and it was approved in a joint session on March 22. Holding the debate in a joint session, was an unusual step that made the legislative process much shorter. This process usually takes weeks.
Botero prepared an open letter to Congress to ask to open the legislative process to public participation, which came out on the Red Pa Todos blog . She asks all the people interested in this issue to sign the letter and to share it through social networks.
